 Inflation eats up all wage increases. The government economists talk about 2% currency devaluation, but not only train drivers but also everyone else who runs out of money at the end of the month can clearly see that  

  • that they have to pay significantly more in restaurants,  
  • that electricity prices have made a huge jump
  • and the prices for everyday food have also risen by more than 2%. One end is not foreseen.

 The proxy war in Ukraine costs many billions; The so-called energy transition is depriving the lower middle class of their livelihood.

  • More and more farmers are having to close their businesses.  
  • Companies that depend on gas and oil sources choose cheaper locations when they can. They depend on a functioning rail network on which goods are transported on time, as in Austria and Switzerland.  
  • The freight forwarders do not want to rely only on Romanian and Polish truck drivers and they need to renew their fleet. But medium-sized entrepreneurs are hesitant to make new purchases because the future is uncertain, a black-green future would be catastrophic for them, the CDU only relies on the arms industry and even wants to intensify the war
  • But it doesn't make sense to pensioners that they should finance this war with only a minimal increase in their pensions; the fact that special funds are only made available for armaments increases their anger.
  • Lufthansa will have no choice but to adjust wages to the increased cost of living.  
  • The farmers are also remaining tough and blocking the border crossings on the Polish-Ukrainian border. They want to prevent the import of Ukrainian grain, which is offered at dumping prices.  

In order to get its neck out of the noose, the political class is now starting to admit mistakes during the Corona crisis. In fact, they are refusing compensation for the millions of vaccination victims and the series of deaths due to inflammation of the heart muscle is far from over. Meanwhile, plans are being worked on as to how the next attacks should take place. Sociologists like Bude speak about it with refreshing openness.   • In eastern Germany, where people experienced the GDR dictatorship, people are more critical and have great sympathy for the railway workers' strike.
