Where is the Federal Republic going?

A social catastrophe of international dimensions

“It was said even then that the approval of this law was the suicide of the parliament. But the parliament did more. By giving itself up, it gave up the constitution, which it was obliged to protect to the people. This was not a criminal, but a “political crime. The politicians of the time are responsible for what they did. What its effect would be, they were told. "

A social catastrophe of international significance

"It was said even then that the approval of this law would be parliament's suicide. But Parliament did more. In giving up itself, it gave up the constitution, which it was obliged to protect against the people. It was not a criminal but a “political crime”. The politicians of the time are responsible for what they achieved. They were predicted what its effect would be. "

This is what Karl Jaspers said about the Enabling Act of 1933.

And now Merkel is asking the question of power. She arranges the prime ministers as if she were the teacher of an excited school class. It only demands ever stricter regulations and thus wants to enforce the principle of authority under all circumstances. Anyone who has only a little authority, even if it is just a family man, should feel confirmed that their authority is being preserved. It does not matter whether it is justified in the matter or not. Especially when a different decision should actually be made according to the circumstances, the authoritarian decision must be enforced and the superior position of power demonstrated. And all authoritarian characters feel confirmed.

The fact that even the youngest schoolchildren are now to be masked in class demonstrates the complete ruthlessness and concern of the Berlin power elite. The inhumane isolation of the elderly in nursing homes shows that these people will stop at nothing. They let the radio and television shower us nonstop and report of so-called new infections.

If Merkel wins the power question now, she can also demand other kinds of submission. Every political functionary knows that the Corona crisis has little to do with the Corona virus, but that it is a highly efficient, political campaign to concentrate power in a few hands. The social movement for climate protection had slipped away from the federal government. The financial sector tumbles from one crisis to the next. The difference between rich and poor is increasing extremely. And the reduction in social costs, which Schröder was already accelerating, had stalled. The privatization of the healthcare system had reached its limits due to social resistance. The opportunity for profitable capital investments had diminished.

As early as March, the political leaders in Berlin recognized that they could use the flu epidemic excellently to strengthen their authority. Merkel swore her immediate surroundings to fight the virus and the media enthusiastically swung into it. They were able to give new impetus to the annual horror reports about overcrowded hospitals during flu times, when the corridors are also occupied by beds. The continuous and planned reduction in beds with privatization and the closure of smaller hospitals could thus be concealed. There are still social areas in which an above-average return can be achieved.

The federal government took over the choreography of this gigantic fraud. She had no problem finding willing helpers. Vain scientists like the tried and tested swindler from the Charité and well endowed organizations like the Leopoldina offered themselves in a hurry. The presidents of the professional organizations quickly recognized that a conflict of authority was looming here, in which they had to pay homage to the top management on punishment for the downfall.

The Nazis used the same mechanisms: First they allowed themselves to be (apparently) legally elected, and then from above to enforce society and stifle any resistance.

“In the last, relatively free elections in March 1933, the people did not support Hitler in a majority. Only a part of the middle class and the educated have since April 1933, under the ingenious guidance of the propaganda art of the Nazis, created the intoxication and the fear, both at the same time. This then resulted in the party's artificial revolution in people's psychosis. " (Karl Jaspers, 1967)

The fate of the Jews made it clear to everyone that the top leadership was determined to the extreme: religious communities were only tolerated if they showed their allegiance. Smaller communities such as the resistant Jehovah's Witnesses were isolated in concentration camps and killed. The ban on worship in our profitable society raises fears. By contrast, the Nazis and Hitler avoided a ban on sports events with their mass marches.

Now the political leaders are still intensely discussing how to keep the people in a trance. The daily images of people on tubes in intensive care units are gradually becoming blunted. But an authoritarian government cannot do without enemy images. In addition to external enemies such as the Russians and the Chinese, the Arabs are now becoming the enemy in the course of the fight against terrorism. Jewish communities are no longer suitable for persecution

The political class, however, can play an excellent role as the protector of Israel in order to divert attention from its own fascist activities. Racism has always been a petty-bourgeois ideology to justify social privileges.

And the liberal constitutional state can only exist as long as it guarantees social privileges. In the crisis-ridden development that has already begun, large parts of the middle class are also affected, for this the ideological armament must be intensified, but a virus is no longer sufficient. If the Berlin political force only has the virus to offer, others are waiting to act with openly fascist slogans.
