Has the left side buckled?
Their new chairman, Pantisano, apologizes to the CDU for calling them fascist.
Only the AfD is fascist, not the CDU.
Well done, Mr. Pantisano. That wasn't credible either: First, the Left Party participates in the election of Merz as Chancellor, then goes along with all the social cuts, supports the CDU's efforts to increase military spending or remains silent on the matter, and then calls its coalition partner fascist.
This means you are not involved in the allocation of positions within the coalition. The coalition had already considered granting your party at least one additional vice-presidential position in the Bundestag, since you have, in a profoundly democratic manner, championed all the important measures of this government, thereby securing its continued existence and rendering a service to democracy.
Your support for conscientious objectors raised doubts about your democratic convictions, but you made it clear that you still support a war against Russia.
So the grand coalition will surely grant you another vice-presidential post in the Bundestag, a state secretary position, or other remuneration.
And the government is also counting on your approval of the cutback plans:
- Raise the retirement age
- Making early retirement after 45 years more difficult
- Restrict sickness benefit payments
- The receipt of care allowance will be restricted.
- Abolish or make it more difficult to obtain mini-jobs in the hospitality industry.
How else are these enormous military expenditures supposed to be financed? The goal is annual spending of two hundred billion euros. The Air Force has declared that it is already prepared for a war against Russia, not just in 2029. You will surely agree to these patriotic goals, but then you can also expect to be allocated lucrative positions. Mr. Spahn has no problem pushing this through. Should the Greens compete with you for these positions, the number of vice-presidential posts will be doubled or tripled so that all parties supporting the government can be considered. https://tkp.at/2026/07/04/hans-eckardt-wenzel-der-schleichende-staatsstreich-im-westen/

"The Greens will never be able to shake off the stain of mandatory vaccination – and their overall COVID-19 policy. Perhaps some are slowly beginning to realize it now. But they will never be able to address it. How can they explain that, blinded by their own propaganda, they wanted to force people to let themselves be injected with vaccines that would kill or sicken them? Such grave guilt can only be repressed. And with repression comes a further loss of touch with reality: it's a downward spiral."
"Demonstrably unconstitutional" is no longer a valid argument after Corona. We've blown our chance and it's our own fault.
"Government supply-side policies, the policy of reforms that is currently being elevated to the status of a national interest, directly harm businesses. Consequently, they are detrimental to the overall economy because businesses are the main drivers of investment and pass on any deterioration in their situation to the rest of the economy. Therefore, only government-financed demand-side policies can overcome the crisis. Monetary policy must support the government in this endeavor by lowering interest rates."
An intelligent person looking at these connections from the outside would say, "That's very simple, everyone should understand that." But unfortunately, that's not the case. In Germany, at least 95 percent of all economists refuse from the outset to include macroeconomic considerations in their analysis. They are obsessed with the idea of eliminating demand as an argument in economic discussions once and for all.
This is not a scientific debate, but a harsh ideological one conducted merely under the guise of science. Because so-called science has the support of the most important lobby groups and the major media (both public and private) fail to exercise any corrective function, they get away with it. The trade unions and social democrats are too weak and lack sufficient economic expertise to effectively counter it.
Four years after the start of the recession in Germany, the talk of "reforms" as the solution to all problems continues – defying all logic. Painful "reforms" are supposed to put the German economy, which undoubtedly suffers from a lack of demand, back on a growth path. Right now, they're fixated once again on a pension reform that has absolutely nothing to do with the overall economic problem in Germany.
Furthermore, European monetary policy, with its recent interest rate hike, has demonstrated that it possesses just as little macroeconomic understanding as other sectors. This creates a toxic mix for Europe that will fundamentally challenge political life as we have known it since the Second World War.

The pension commission presents its proposals for pension reform. Our macroscopic pension package takes a different approach. A comparison.
The Pension Commission presented its proposals for a pension reform to the Federal Government on June 23.
The commission sees the aging population as the central challenge and wants to avoid a perceived financial burden on contributors. To stabilize the system, it proposes linking the retirement age to rising life expectancy and abolishing early retirement without deductions.
In the future, groups such as the self-employed and members of parliament will also be required to contribute to the pay-as-you-go pension system. As a new component, the commission recommends a mandatory, individual capital pension to support pensions in the long term. The pension level is to be maintained at the low level of 48 percent of income until at least 2031.
Our macroscopic pension package counters the argument of demographic change. The macroscopic package's objection is that society has been aging for over a century despite steadily increasing prosperity. The real problem, it argues, lies in the fact that wages have lagged behind productivity growth since the 1980s.
"Instead of continually raising the retirement age, our pension package aims to improve wage growth and make better use of existing labor potential, for example by reducing involuntary part-time work. This includes a comprehensive employment insurance scheme into which everyone – explicitly including civil servants and politicians – contributes on a solidarity basis."
Overall, our pension package guarantees a significantly higher statutory pension level of 64 percent with a reliably capped contribution rate of 22 percent. Our pension package firmly rejects the introduction of a volatile equity-based pension, as the capital funding must also be financed from current value creation.

Sahra Wagenknecht on Twitter on July 3, 2026:
"The TAX REFORM is a farce."
Of the €600 in alleged relief, €312 is child benefit. Anyone who presents a family benefit, whose increase is long overdue given inflation, as tax relief is lying to the public. Other measures, such as raising the basic tax allowance, are already on the agenda. Families will end up paying more at the pump this summer alone than they will receive in tax relief from Merz and Klingbeil in the future. And this package certainly won't make Germany any faster. For that, the government would have to rescue the economy and lower energy prices. The fact that nothing is happening is a blatant failure of the government. We need a new national coach, but even more urgently, we need a change of coach.
in the Chancellery."
Sahra Wagenknecht on Twitter on July 3, 2026:
"The CDU/CSU and SPD plan to take on over €200 billion in new debt next year. Instead of at least using it to renovate our dilapidated schools, roads, and hospitals, the majority is to be squandered on overpriced military equipment. The federal government intends to increase military spending to an absurd €183 billion by 2030. This means that almost every third euro of the federal budget will flow into tanks, drones, and fighter jets. The average citizen will foot the bill. To finance this gigantic rearmament, which will not make our country safer but will only enrich the shareholders of Rheinmetall and other companies, the federal government is drastically cutting pensions and healthcare. The interest payments alone on this rearmament debt will crush taxpayers and destroy the welfare state as we know it. This government must be replaced urgently before it completely ruins Germany!"
"When young people can no longer afford their own apartments, this directly impacts the birth rate – which is already dramatically low in many EU countries. At the same time, frustration among the population is rising. Housing is not a luxury, but a basic requirement for a normal life. Anyone who systematically increases the cost of this basic requirement should not be surprised by growing social tensions."
The figures from the first quarter of 2026 are not an isolated case. They are the logical consequence of a policy that has for years sacrificed the interests of citizens in favor of ideological projects and short-term political advantages.
This development shows once again: EU policy is making life increasingly unaffordable for the general population – and that is no accident, but rather by design.”

"Historical comparisons teach us that governments suffering under intense domestic pressure and economic failure can use a state of emergency as a political lifeboat. The restrictions shown in the image are not theoretical safeguards, but rather the tried and tested tools for silencing a disaffected society. The warning against further escalation of war is therefore inextricably linked to preserving democracy at home. Once a state of emergency is declared, it will be too late for such articles."
